2016 Renaissance Festival PerformanceMSCDA-sponsored performances are a central part of the Scottish Highland dance experience in Minnesota.

Performances provide an opportunity for dancers to share what they love with audiences, try new dances and have fun with favorite steps. Performances  develop poise, confidence and discipline while building friendships and improving technique.

They are also an important source of scholarships for MSCDA dancers. 100% of the funds earned through performances go back to MSCDA dancers as scholarships to help with the expenses of costumes, lessons, competition/workshop entry fees and travel.

MSCDA dancers are a regular feature at annual events such as the Festival of Nations, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, the Flint Hills’ International Children’s Festival, the Minnesota Scottish Fair and the Burns’ Night Celebration.

MSCDA is proud to collaborate with the Macalester College Pipe Band as well as other local Scottish dance and culture organizations. You can find MSCDA dancers performing across Minnesota and even Wisconsin almost every month – from the wee primaries showing off their new steps, all the way to nationally-recognized, premier-level dancers. Visit our events calendar to see where we will be performing next.

In addition, we perform at a wide range of other events and smaller settings that include community festivals, weddings, senior centers, schools and parades. We would love to dance at your event!
